Apple 's first MacBooks with M3 chip expected to launch next year. Pre-orders forecast.

Apple will release its first MacBooks based on TSMC's 3nm manufacturing process in 2024, but not this year, according to rumors. This is according to a new five-year forecast of global notebook shipments.
The laptop market is expected to snap a two-year slump as the report projects shipments to grow by 4.7% through 2024. This is due to easing inflation and the introduction of new products, including the new MacBooks that feature a 3nm chip . These are the findings of the report. In 2023, the share of laptops using Arm-based processors is expected to decline rather than increase, as Apple, which uses internally designed Arm-based processors for most of its laptop lines, is expected to see a significant drop in shipments in 2023 as the company plans to switch to processors manufactured on a 3nm node at TSMC to increase performance in 2024.
In July, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that the first Macs with the M3 chip are likely to be announced in October of this year. Following the release of new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models in January and more recently new MacBook Air , Mac Studio, and Mac Pro models in June, Gurman estimates that the next models to get the new M3 chip will be the iMac, 13-inch MacBook Air, and 13-inch MacBook Pro.

However, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will not release new MacBook models with the M3 series chip before the end of this year. However, Kuo was only referring to new MacBooks, and it seems likely that we will see a new iMac this year. The current model with the M1 chip has been around for about two and a half years.
Recently, DigiTimes itself suggested that Apple could make an announcement about the MacBook Pro before the summer. The Taiwan-based outlet reported that Apple is preparing to release new MacBook Pro models with mini-LED displays, in sizes 14-inch and 16-inch, which will be more efficient. While the report does not mention the processor that will be used in these models, Gurman previously said that the next version of the MacBook Pro will feature M3 Pro and M3 Max chips and is expected to be released by mid-2024.
Will Apple release new Macs soon? Here's what the latest rumors say

The upcoming M3 chip, which has yet to be officially announced, is expected to be built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm process. This upgrade is expected to offer improved performance and power efficiency compared to the current M2 chip, which is based on the 5nm process. The M2 chip debuted in June 2022. It is also expected to feature an all-new GPU with ray tracing, which was first introduced in the A17 Pro chip in the iPhone 15 Pro last month.
