The Nevada- based hotel and casino company recently suffered a cybersecurity breach on its network, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday. The outlet cited anonymous sources who blamed the hacking group Scattered Spider for the alleged incident .

The attack reportedly began in early September. It was preceded by a breach of one of Caesars Entertainment's third-party IT providers, according to Bloomberg.
The alleged hackers received a payment worth tens of millions of dollars from the company during the incident, the source said.

Caesars Entertainment, which owns brands such as Caesars Palace, Eldorado and Harrah's, reported total net revenue of $5.7 billion during the first two quarters of the year, with $2.88 billion in the second quarter alone. The company's net income for the two quarters was $784 million.
