Hot Toys has apparently created One Piece Live Action figures as viewers seem to be enjoying the live-action One Piece series on Netflix. “One Piece” was No. 1 on the streaming service in 84 different countries for its first weekend.
Usually, when we talk about a new Hot Toys figure, we're often left wondering how the company manages to create yet another impressively accurate Hollywood homunculus. This time, the mystery remains, but perhaps for... different reasons.
The commercial success of the remake on Netflix has had a significant impact on product demand from Asian toy manufacturers. Bandai has already released a figure depicting Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy. Now, Hot Toys has revealed its own 1:6 scale version of the beloved hero, and it's eagerly awaited by everyone!

In the past, there was a hurdle that was a challenge to bring something like One Piece to a live-action adaptation from the ground up. However, Netflix seems to have managed it successfully so far, tackling Eiichiro Oda's seminal manga with flying colors. Now, trying to replicate that success in the form of a small plastic action figure presents another level of difficulty. This little demon's resemblance to Godoy is superficial, creating a strange and irritating feeling. Of course, there are things that are difficult to achieve and require inevitable sacrifices to make them happen.
Hot Toys' Luffy is expected to be released in the second half of 2024, and there's a chance that Hot Toys will reconsider its analysis (and will have the time to do so).
