Developer Type-Moon closed out its panel at Anime Expo 2023 with a bombshell announcement: Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon, the remake of the legendary 2000 visual novel Tsukihime, will be released in English for the first time. It's scheduled for release sometime in 2024 on PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Unfortunately, the live broadcast of the panel at AX 2023 was cut short before the announcement was made. An attendee snapped a photo of the game's English logo and teaser screen, which you can see below.
The original 2000 release of Tsukihime was the work of Type-Moon co-founders Kinoko Nasu and Takashi Takeuchi. Its story centers on Shiki Tohno, a high school student who, after a fatal injury, gains the “Mysterious Eyes of Death Perception.” Possessing the ability to see the “lines of death,” Shiki can destroy objects – and beings – he sees by tracing their lines with a sharp object. Shiki also encounters various humans and supernatural beings, including Arcueid Brunestud, a beautiful vampire, Ciel, his mysterious classmate, and others from the Tohno family.

Tsukihime later became an anime series, as well as spin-offs, such as the fighting game Melty Blood.
Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- is the first part of a two-part remake of the original. It was announced in 2008 and released in 2021 for Switch and PS4. The remake features a new cast, new character designs, new characters, and story updates. The 2021 version covers the first two of the original's five story paths.

Tsukihime Remake also received its own fighting game, Melty Blood: Type Lumina, which features the revamped characters as well as guest appearances from Type-Moon's Fate series.
