The upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a titanium frame instead of aluminum, like the iPhone 15 Pro.
With the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 already a thing of the past, rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S24 series have been accelerating. Yesterday, it was reported that the Galaxy S24 Plus could feature a slightly larger display than the Galaxy S23 Plus, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra could offer a lot of new things. Today, the source of yesterday's leak is back with more information.
Ice Universe posted an image of the periodic table along with a caption that says “22.” It didn’t take long for one follower to correctly guess that the leaker was trying to say that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a titanium frame.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra has an Armor and its durability is one of the reasons why it is one of the best phones of 2023.
Titanium is stronger and harder than aluminum, so it can withstand greater pressure. It is also resistant to corrosion.
Titanium is more expensive than aluminum, and if Samsung does indeed decide to switch it, it will make the Galaxy S24 Ultra more expensive than the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which is already quite expensive at $1,200.
Apple is also expected to use titanium for the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max , and many reports say it could be one of the contributing factors to their rumored $200 price increase.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max has a stainless steel frame and at 240 grams, it is one of the heaviest phones out there. On the other hand, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, due to being made of titanium, could make it lighter, as titanium is lighter than stainless steel.
The same won't be true for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, however. Titanium is denser than aluminum, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra already weighs 234 grams. Using titanium could make it heavier, so it's not sure if it would be a good idea for Samsung to make this change.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is rumored to have a slightly better rear camera system, faster charging, and will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the new Exynos, depending on the region. It will also have a 144 Hz display.
Given that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 was announced earlier than usual, Samsung may announce the Galaxy S24 in January instead of February, but that's just speculation.
