Tesla's cheaper models have become more affordable in the market due to Tesla's price cuts this year, higher incentives for electric vehicles and an increase in average new car purchase prices. To be precise, the average selling price of a new car in the US is now $48,000.
Tesla offers two versions of the Model 3 and one version of the Model Y starting at this price – and that doesn't include potential incentives.
In recent days, if you combine incentives and discounts, you can buy a Tesla for quite a low price. However, a California resident has proven that you can get a Model 3 for just $14,000!
He explains in his tweet that it was all down to a “unique combination of state/local rebates, the federal tax credit, and a $4,120 stock rebate.” He knows he got a great deal. That’s exactly what European customers would pay for the Dacia Spring, the most affordable electric car in Europe. But the Tesla Model 3 is superior in terms of equipment, safety, performance, technology , and size.
Tesla is offering discounts on new Model 3 Rear-Wheel-Drive cars starting at $40,240.

Zohar purchased a product that cost $37,120 and used the $500 discount he got through the referral program.
He then exploited an impressive list of motivations:
- $7500 from (CVRP) Clean Vehicle Rebate Project.
- $4000 from the Electrify Your Ride program from Central Coast Community Energy (3CE).
- $4000 from Monterey Bay Air Resources District – Electric Vehicle.
- $7500 from the Federal tax credit.

However to be fair, you have to be in a pretty rare situation to qualify for all of these incentives at once, as you have to have a federal tax burden to take advantage of the full tax credit and also have a low enough income to qualify for CVRP.
