Tesla announced an update on the Cybertruck program and said it will be the first pickup truck under six meters, with four doors and a bed about 2 meters long.

Just days before the company's earnings report, Tesla announced that it had built the first Cybertruck at its Gigafactory Texas.
The announcement from Tesla was surprising, as according to a previous report by Electrek, the company informed suppliers that the Cybertruck's launch is expected to begin in late August and its production in early October.
In announcing its second-quarter financial results, Tesla provided information about the Cybertruck program. In the report, Tesla said it is “on track to begin initial production later this year.”

“Cybertruck production is expected to begin later this year at Gigafactory Texas and the outlook is good. In addition, we continue to advance the development of our next generation platform.“
The Cybertruck's unconventional design is what makes the scale possible. Musk to make something that would come out of a post-apocalyptic science fiction movie rather than a typical truck prompted the engineers to build something that doesn't look like a typical truck.
Additionally, the company also confirmed that the vehicles currently being produced are RC units, or “release candidate units.” Tesla noted that the truck is currently in “final certification and validation.”
