This week, Telegram Messenger released an update for its Mac app that includes a power saving menu with various options to preserve battery life on MacBooks while using the encrypted chat platform.

Easily accessible in the app's settings menu, the power saving mode can be activated with the simple flip of a switch – and when activated, it quickly disables power- hungry features .
Telegram’s feature turns off all unnecessary distractions, such as auto-playing GIFs and videos, sticker and emoji animations/effects, and interface animations, so you can stay focused. Mac users can use the slider option to automatically enable Power Saver based on their Mac’s battery percentage . With this feature, they don’t have to manually enable it every time!
