A recent Bloomberg report revealed that Nintendo is ramping up production of the Switch in its sixth year of operation, having sold around 21 million systems throughout the previous fiscal year. Despite lowering its sales forecast to 19 million units in November, the company now feels confident it can make more consoles.

A report from "people familiar with the matter" has revealed that Nintendo is planning to release even more Switch units in the upcoming fiscal year, which begins in April. Suppliers and partners have already been informed of these plans by the gaming giant.

For now, Nintendo has not revealed the final number of systems it plans to produce. Instead, the company will adjust production based on customer demand and currently expects “sustained” interest for at least another year.

As of September 30, 2022, the Switch had already sold 114 million units worldwide. It is poised for another successful year with upcoming games like Pikmin 4 and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Analysts claimed that a Zelda-themed Switch would “entice existing console owners” to buy another unit in 2023.

The Nintendo Switch truly revolutionizes the way we play video games, allowing us to take our experiences wherever we want to go and giving us access to a huge library of old and new games!
