Analogue made three separate announcements yesterday in a post shared on its website. The first is that 95% of all Pocket pre-orders will begin shipping this month and throughout the rest of the year before closing out 2022, with a "small amount of the remaining orders" coming in 2023 as inventory.

Although first announced in October 2019, the Analogue Pocket's release was severely delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and supply chain shortages , but it finally began shipping in late December 2021 for those who pre-ordered early. Everyone else, including those who chose to wait until reviews were published before ordering, had a much longer delay before getting their hands on it, so this should be welcome news for them.

One of the most innovative features of the Analogue Pocket is its ability to play games from a variety of retro handhelds using their native game cartridges, thanks to a series of adapters. Yesterday, Analogue also announced that the Pocket Cartridge Adapter will be available for pre-order via its website starting October 21st for $99, with delivery expected in the third quarter of 2023. More are expected, but the set comes with three adapters, including one that supports TurboGrafx-16, PC Engine, and SuperGrafx, one that supports Neo Geo Pocket Color and Neo Geo Pocket, and the last one that allows Atari Lynx to be used with the Pocket.

The most exciting announcement Analogue made yesterday is that the company is also going to be producing a final production run of the Super Nt and Mega Sg consoles, which, like the Pocket, use an FPGA chip to perfectly replicate the gaming capabilities of the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis consoles, respectively. Pre-orders for the $199 Super Nt and Mega Sg will begin on October 28th with shipping expected later in 2023, but they'll be going fast, so we highly recommend signing up for online storeso you can get a notification when pre-orders open.
