“By expanding to PC and mobile devices, and we have to say… also to live services, we have the opportunity to go from a situation where we are present in a very narrow segment of the overall gaming software market, to a situation where we will be present almost everywhere,” Sony Interactive Entertainment president Jim Ryan of the expansion of PlayStation games.
Additionally, the company's president stated that the growth of the PC and mobile market could bring about "a significant increase in the number of people playing games , the number of people enjoying games , and the number of people spending money on PlayStation games."

Video Games Chronicle also reported last year that Sony had hired Nicola Sebastiani, the former head of Apple Arcade, to lead the company's push into mobile gaming. The PlayStation Mobile team continues to grow as it hires key executives with gaming. Many of them are coming from EA and are poised to help Sony with its new endeavors.

As mobile gaming becomes more and more popular, bringing more PlayStation titles to these devices seems like a smart move by Sony. Porting its games to PC and mobile has worked well for the company so far.
