Seven new processors have been announced by Intel, including two Core i5, three Core i7, and two Core i9 options.

Intel's 12th-generation mobile chips are living up to expectations so far. They offer excellent performance over the previous generation, though battery life continued to be an area where the company often fell behind Apple and AMD.
Four of the seven chips feature 16 cores and 24 threads (with eight performance cores and eight efficiency cores). The top-of-the-line chip, the Core i9-12950HX, operates at a base power of 55W, with a maximum turbo power of up to 157W. The performance and efficiency cores have maximum turbo frequencies of 5.0 GHz and 3.6 GHz, respectively, with base frequencies of 2.3 GHz and 1.7 GHz, respectively. The Core i9-12950HX is also eligible for Intel's vPro management platform

Intel claims huge performance gains over previous generations. Internal testing of the Core i9-12900HX shows a 17 percent increase in single-threaded performance over last year's Core i9-11980HK and 64 percent in multi-threaded tasks, as well as a massive 81 percent increase in 3D performance.
Intel also hinted that there will be laptops powered by these chips, such as MSI's GT77 Titan , which will feature the 12900HX, Gigabyte's Aorus 17X , and Asus ' ROG Strix Scar 17 SE . We also know that the 12900HX will appear in Lenovo 's upcoming Legion 7i .

Interestingly, Intel didn't announce a chip with "all the performance features" that some had expected. But Nick Blair, a member of Intel's mobile innovation team, said the company had worked with developers like Creative Assembly to optimize games like Total War: Warhammer III to use both performance cores and efficiency cores at the same time.
With Computex 2022 just around the corner, these chips are coming just in time for a slew of new releases. We already know what companies like Asus and Lenovo are announcing, and there will definitely be more announcements in the coming weeks.
