Customers began complaining that they could no longer access their websites and emails due to Domain Name System (DNS) problems.
The company said it received reports of domains using eNom name servers failing to resolve and acknowledged the problem.
After investigating the issue, the company found that domain resolution issues were affecting several hundred domains. eNom warned that the outage would last for a few hours.

eNom customers affected by the issue were unable to change nameservers because eNom was down and all they could do was wait for the migration to complete.

“We are receiving some domain reports using our nameservers that are failing to resolve. Due to the migration we are unable to fully investigate and address the issue until the migration is complete. This is not an expected outcome of the migration and we are working to address it as a priority,” eNom said.
An initial maintenance notice from the company said the data center migration would take 12 hours, between 6 a.m. PST and 6 p.m. PST on Saturday, January 15.

During this period, enom.com and enomcentral.com would be unavailable and customers would not be able to log into their account from the web interface and the API would be down.
While some management actions would not be possible, the company said DNS resolution and email services would remain operational.
