You may be one of the users who at some point needed to send an important video to someone via WhatsApp, but due to the built-in image or video compression tool contained in the application, its quality was not what you wanted.

However, this inconvenience will soon end, as the messaging company is reportedly working on a new feature that will allow users to share high-definition videos with their friends and family.
As reported in a screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, the new feature will give users the option to choose whether they want to send a “Better Quality” video to others or if they want to save data by compressing it.

The screenshot reveals that there will be three options, which will be Auto, Best Quality, and Data Saver. The Auto option will decide on its own and automatically detect the best compression algorithm for specific videos.

The best quality option will preserve the video quality, while the “Data Saver” option will compress the video to save data and reduce bandwidth.

The feature is still under development and it is not known when it will be released in the stable version of the mobile app. This new feature will be useful for thousands of users who want to share high-quality videos with their contacts, as WhatsApp currently does not allow users to choose the quality of videos before sharing them with their partners or friends.
