Apple yesterday unveiled some details of iOS 15, the company's next major update for the iPhone, which will come with new features.

FaceTime
In iOS 15, FaceTime features a new grid view and portrait mode support for video. As for audio, FaceTime calls now offer Spatial Audio and adaptive voice isolation for a more natural experience.
Additionally, users can create a shared link to a scheduled video call and can join FaceTime calls through the browser on Android and Windows.
Finally, “SharePlay” in FaceTime allows users to bring music, videos, and movies during a call, and they’ll also be able to share their screen. SharePlay works on iPhone, iPad , and Mac , and thanks to shared playback controls, anyone on a call can play, pause, or skip. SharePlay is also available as an API for integration with third-party apps, including Disney+, HBO Max , and TikTok.
Notifications
Notifications in iOS 15 have been redesigned, with the addition of contact photos and larger app icons. There's now a notification summary, which presents notifications based on how users interact with apps and the priority they give them.
Focus
iOS 15 offers new user states called “Focus.” Focus filters notifications and apps based on where the user wants to focus. Users can create a custom Focus or choose a suggested. Users can also create Home Screen pages with apps and widgets related to Focus.
Photos
Photos will feature “Live Text,” which allows users to highlight and select text in images. Live Text also works in other apps like Apple News.
Wallet
iOS 15 brings additional key types to the Wallet app, including corporate badges, hotel room keys, and keys for smart home locks.
Wallet will also support ID cards in the United States. Users simply scan their ID to add it to the Wallet app.

Weather
The Weather app now has a completely new design. It features a full-screen map and new background animations that show the position of the sun, and you can see when rain or snow starts and stops.
Maps
In iOS 15, Maps features globe view and much more detailed 3D views of cities, including a new night mode. There are new details for roads, such as curves, bike lanes, and crosswalks.
Additionally, there is more information in Transit view and Maps automatically follows users during a route, while offering more detailed directions.
With iOS 15, users can hold their iPhone and Maps will generate a precise location to present detailed directions in augmented reality.
Safari
Safari a new design. There is a new tab bar at the bottom of the screen, designed in such a way that users can easily move between different tabs. There are also tab groups that allow users to easily access them at any time, on any device. Safari on the iPhone supports extensions for the first time and a customizable homepage.

Other features
iOS 15 also features voice search in Safari, cross-app drag and drop , and new Memoji outfits. Messages features new ways to share content, including images, music, podcasts, Apple News articles, and more, as well as pinned content.
The Health app features a new sharing tab, allowing users to share their health data with family or doctors.
iOS 15 also enhances user privacy on the iPhone with Mail Privacy Protection and App Privacy Report .
All iPhones from the iPhone 6S onwards will be able to install iOS 15. A public beta will be available to iOS users starting next month.
