Customers are also warned not to expose their NAS devices to the internet, as this would allow potential attackers to find them and gain access to user data

A QNAP PSIRT spokesperson told BleepingComputer that NAS devices recently compromised by the AgeLocker ransomware were using outdated firmware.

"Therefore, we would like to ask users to update their firmware and apps to the latest version to keep devices safe from attacks," the spokesperson added.
