Google said it has already started working on a fix: “We are aware of an issue with WebView that is causing some apps to crash on Android. A fix is in progress.” The company suggested users use Gmail via a browser.
Some users are reporting that they are still having trouble and cannot open their Gmail messages.
Some people reported that they were able to resolve this issue by uninstalling the latest update to “Android System WebView.” According to the comments, uninstalling the updates made the phones return to normal and work normally.
Additionally, many companies and phone manufacturers have rushed to help their users by suggesting the solution of uninstalling updates. Samsung US has advised Samsung phone users to uninstall WebView to temporarily fix the problem. Galaxy phone users can go to Settings > Apps and click on the three dots in the top right corner > Show system apps > Search for Android System WebView > Uninstall updates.

DuckDuckGo browser also reported the issue on Twitter. “ We are aware of reports of apps crashing on Android, including DuckDuckGo browser. This is due to an update from Google, which is currently working on it and a fix will be released soon , ” the company said.
