According to a survey conducted and published by SeoClarity , forty percent of Americans do not trust Facebook and TikTok apps . On the contrary, Google seems to have gained the trust of most US citizens .
SeoClarity surveyed 1,057 US residents to gauge their trust in companies . The results showed that a majority of US citizens believe social media companies need more regulation and oversight.
The findings are notable because of how tech companies have ranked in terms of trust. Google is above Amazon ,Microsoft and Apple in terms of the trust it inspires among citizens. Meanwhile, Facebook and TikTok were among the least trusted.
65.7% of US residents say Google is trustworthy, followed by Amazon at 65.1%, Microsoft at 64.9% and Apple at 63.6%, while Samsung follows with 62.3%.
1 in 5 Americans would trust Google results in any case.
61% believe that medical answers from Google have been vetted by medical professionals.
SeoClarity also found that half of Americans believe that websites can control where they appear in Google searches. However, this view is somewhat skewed, as for the vast majority of websites, this is not the case.

43% of US residents don't trust TikTok and 42.6% don't trust Facebook.
72.5% of Americans believe that search engines and social media companies have a responsibility to actually control the content on their sites. 62% of Americans believe that search and social media companies need more regulation, while 25% remained neutral.
