Everything you want to know about the Apple Watch and its trajectory

No one can dispute the fact that Apple is one of the best companies in the world in its field.

Apple Watch

Ever since the legendary Steve Jobs, the company has offered many innovations through its products. In fact, some of these productshave been a source of inspiration for other companies, which have gone on to create their own versions.

Some of the gadgets that Apple first released have managed to cause a frenzy, with millions of users around the world choosing them. One of these gadgets is the Apple Watch, which like most of the company's creations, has thousands of enthusiastic supporters.

The two driving forces behind the creation of the Apple Watch were Apple's Senior Vice President of Design, Jony Ive , and Vice President of Technology, Kevin Lynch. The design team aimed to create a user interface that would allow for quick and concise responses, rather than prolonged interaction.

Apple Watch 1

The company's first smartwatch model, the Apple Watch 1, was announced by Cook at an event in September 2014, where it was received with particular enthusiasm and anticipation until its official release on April 24, 2015.

It has a Retina display with Force Touch and is water resistant, but not suitable for swimming. It has a battery life of up to 18 hours, and it also offers 8GB of memory.

One of its main features is tracking your activity, including daily exercise, for example measuring how much you walked in a day. It also allows you to monitor your function , so you know when a problem occurs.

The Apple Watch is capable of receiving phone calls, as well as iMessages and SMS, and can also run third-party apps and use Apple's Handoff feature with other Apple devices

It can also control Apple TV, act as a walkie-talkie, and has a viewfinder for the iPhone. Other features include Apple Pay for shopping and the built-in Siri voice assistant.

Of course, as the company's first smartwatch, it had several flaws, such as the fact that its health-related features drained the battery. Another problem was that most of its features only worked while it was connected to an iPhone.

Apple Watch 2

The Apple Watch 2, released in September 2016, featured some key improvements, the most significant of which was the integration of GPS, so that it no longer needed to be paired with an iPhone to provide navigation.

The fitness tracking features have largely remained the same, but the Apple Watch 2 is water resistant up to 50 meters, so it can be worn while swimming. The watch also has an updated processor, which is faster, and has a brighter display. However, like its predecessor, it has short battery life.

In September 2017, Apple released the next Apple Watch model, the Apple Watch Series 3, further improving on existing features.

It has a faster processor, updated Bluetooth, more RAM, and a Siri that can speak rather than just respond to commands. New features include a barometric altimeter for even greater navigation capabilities.

On the downside, the battery still requires daily charging. Also, with the Apple Watch 3, connecting to older iPhones can be difficult. Specifically, this version of the watch requires an iPhone 6 or later if the user intends to use the cellular features it offers.

Apple Watch 4

In September 2018, the company released its fourth generation of smartwatches, the Apple Watch 4, which includes many new and improved features.

The Apple Watch 4 is much faster and more powerful than its predecessor, thanks to a new 64-bit Dual-Core processor. This means the Apple Watch 4 has a better processor than the iPhone 6. Other improvements to the Apple Watch 4 include better Bluetooth, improved motion and location tracking, and even more advanced health and fitness tracking. In fact, the technology in this watch has advanced so much that it is officially endorsed by the American Heart Association.

 Apple Watch

The Apple Watch Series 5 is the sixth generation model of the Apple Watch. It was released on September 20, 2019 during an Apple special event alongside the iPhone 11. Its main improvement over its predecessor is the always-on display. This means that its screen is always active, making it easier for the user.

Additional improvements include: International emergency calling in over 150 countries, the addition of a magnetometer, which enables compass functionality, doubling the storage capacity to 32 GB, and an improved ambient light sensor. The Apple Watch Series 5 was discontinued on September 15, 2020, following the release of the Apple Watch Series 6.

Apple Watch

The most recent Apple Watch model is the Apple Watch Series 6, which was released in September 2020, along with the Apple Watch SE.

The Apple Watch Series 6 features Apple's latest S6 chip, which is fast and beats even the best performance of its competitors. Battery life is also vastly improved over other models, exceeding 36 hours. The watch runs Apple's latest version of WatchOS 7.

In addition to the heart rate and electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor, the Apple Watch Series 6 also has a new sensor on the back that measures blood oxygen saturation, known as SpO2, which is arguably its most interesting feature. To take the measurement, you have to manually turn it on and remain still with your wrist resting on a table for 15 seconds.

It also has a very useful function that counts down 20 seconds while you wash your hands to make cleaning them more effective.

Apple Watch

There are several reasons why a smart watch is particularly useful in our everyday lives:

It is useful when traveling, as they can use special vibrations to direct you to your destination without having to constantly look at the screen.

It helps you find your lost phone. Most smartwatches have a “Find Phone” feature. You can connect your phone or any device to it and call it through your watch whenever you want.

It makes exercising easier by monitoring your fitness and measuring the time you exercise, without having to hold a device.

It allows easy response to calls and messages, even when in places such as public transportation.

Its battery can last longer than a smartphone, allowing you to complete your tasks.
