iPhone X, iPhone 8, Apple Watch & Apple TV: The presentation

Yes, as we mentioned this morning, it's iPhone Day, and specifically iPhone X. Apple CEO Tim Cook opened the launch event for Apple's new iPhone with a special tribute to former CEO Steve Jobs, in the packed new theater that bears Jobs' name.iPhone X, iPhone 8, Apple Watch & Apple TV: The presentation

Apple Watch

Apple Watch sales, according to Cook, have increased by 50 percent over the previous year. So now it is the number one watch in the world, surpassing even giants like Rolex.
Apple introduced three updates related to the heart to all Apple Watch Series 3. The first is an improvement to the heart rate app, which you can now see on your watch screen for the first time. A second new feature notifies those who are not active, but have an elevated heart rate. And finally, the Watch Series 3 monitors heart rate, a tool that could provide early detection of arrhythmia – especially atrial fibrillation, which is a leading cause of heart attacks.iPhone X, iPhone 8, Apple Watch & Apple TV: The presentation
Perhaps the biggest announcement, however, is the built-in calling feature. It was a long-awaited development, but no one was sure if it would be introduced this year. The device does not require a second phone number. So you can make calls from your Apple Watch, without your iPhone.
Another new development is Siri, which can now speak to the Apple Watch.
Although with additional new features, the Apple Watch Series 3 is the same size as its predecessor.
Prices: $249 for the Series 1, $329 for the Series 2 and $399 for the Series 3. You can pre-order on September 15th and delivery will begin on September 22nd.

Apple TV

Apple's newest streaming box features a number of upgrades designed to optimize performance and 4K HDR content. It features an A10X fusion chip, the same one that powers the iPad Pro. It comes with 2x the CPU performance, 4x the GPU, and a new version of tvOS to boot.
For now, movies available on iTunes (20th Century Fox, Lionsgate, Paramount) in 4K will be the same as their HD counterparts. If you recently purchased an HD movie, Apple will upgrade it to the 4K version for free.
Live sports, better integration with Photos and HomeKit, and thousands of games and apps in the App Store round out the experience.
The 32GB version of the Apple TV 4K will cost $179, and $199 for the 64GB.

iPhone 8 and 8 Plus and then iPhone X

The iPhone is definitely what everyone has been waiting for. The iPhone 8 will come in three color options: space gray, silver, and a beautiful new gold finish. Each of them will feature a 50% deeper reinforcement layer, microscopically sealed for dirt and more water resistance.iPhone X, iPhone 8, Apple Watch & Apple TV: The presentation
Apple's newest iPhone is powered by the A11 Bionic chip, a 6-core CPU with 64-bit performance. It has a 3-core GPU that serves for much better performance in 3D games and VR.
For most of us, the smartphone camera is an extension of our daily lives, and it seems to improve with each new version.
Apple's new flagship features a new 12-megapixel sensor with advanced color filters that provide better color saturation and deeper pixels with higher color dynamics.iPhone X, iPhone 8, Apple Watch & Apple TV: The presentation
A suite of new software tools improves Portrait Mode by adding lighting effects like in a studio or under natural light.
Video has also been upgraded, allowing for 4K video recording at 240 frames per second.
A new gyroscope and accelerometer bring AR to the iPhone. The new GPU, working with ARKit, renders graphics at 60 frames per second.
Wireless charging now. Both iPhone 8 models feature Qi wireless charging. Let's wait and see how much the charger will cost...
Both new iPhones come in 128GB and 256GB versions. The former starts at $699, while the Plus starts at $799. They will be available in the US starting Friday, September 15.

iPhone X

As Tim Cook said, it’s “the biggest leap forward since the original iPhone.”
In a word, it’s gorgeous.
It’s designed to be water and dust resistant and comes in space gray and silver.iPhone X
The iPhone X features the new Super Retina display. It’s 5.8-inches, with a resolution of 2436×1125 and 458 ppi – the highest pixel density on an iPhone, ever.
The OLED display offers great contrast, is thin, and adds some of the best results of any device released.iPhone X, iPhone 8, Apple Watch & Apple TV: The presentation
Dolby Vision, 3D Touch, and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio make this device simply incredible. Behind that screen is a wake-up feature that gives you a new way to wake your iPhone, since the iPhone X no longer has a Home button. Its screen is edge-to-edge.iPhone X, iPhone 8, Apple Watch & Apple TV: The presentation
As for Siri, there’s a larger button on the side to wake it up, or you can always use “Hey Siri” to summon the digital assistant with your voice.
But what about the fingerprint sensor? Well, you don't need it anymore. Face ID is all you need to unlock your device. No more fingerprints required.iPhone X, iPhone 8, Apple Watch & Apple TV: The presentation
Every time you look at your iPhone, one of the many front-facing sensors scans your face and creates a mathematical model in real time.
As mentioned, the feature is quite advanced due to the A11 neural engine, which literally gives you a neural network in your phone. It's dual-core and can perform over 600 billion calculations per second.iPhone X, iPhone 8, Apple Watch & Apple TV: The presentation
Face ID will recognize you during the day or night, whether you're wearing a hat or not, or even if you grow a beard or decide to wear glasses.
With the fingerprint sensor, Apple claims that the chances of unlocking your device are 1 in 50,000, while with Face ID, the percentage went to 1 in 1,000,000.
Apps like Mint, OnePassword, and eTrade will work seamlessly with Face ID, just like they did with the fingerprint scanner.
According to the company, it will be the fastest phone on the market.

Animoji now…. are emoji that use AR to move realistically with your facial movements.
As for the cameras, the iPhone X has two 12MP sensors as well as the same settings and tuning for AR and lighting features as the iPhone 8.
If you're worried about battery life, Apple claims the iPhone X has two hours of additional life over the iPhone 7.
The iPhone X comes in two sizes: 64GB, 256GB and starts at $999.
Pre-orders start on October 27, and shipments will begin on November 3.
