Dark Mode is a feature in mobile and desktop operating systems that changes the user interface to a dark background. Many people love Dark Mode because it makes it easier on their eyes, especially at night. Android devices also have the dark mode feature. Here's how you can use it.

Android has officially supported system-wide dark mode since Android 10. “System-wide” means that it affects many parts of the operating system , including some third-party apps.
First, swipe down from the top of the screen (once or twice, depending on your device manufacturer) and tap the gear icon to open the “Settings” menu.

Then, go to the “Display” settings.

Things will look different here , depending on your phone or tablet manufacturer. Most people call it “Dark Mode” or “Dark Theme,” but some call it “Night Mode.” There may be an option right on this page to enable it.

For more options, you can tap “Dark Theme” on phones like the Google Pixel.

Samsung Galaxy devices will offer “Dark Mode Settings”.

Dark Mode options will vary depending on your device manufacturer. Many allow you to automatically turn Dark Mode on at sunset and turn it off at sunrise. You can also choose a custom schedule.

Select your preferred Dark Mode automation program on a Google Pixel (see image below).

And, in the image below, see how it looks on Samsung Galaxy.

If you want apps to follow the Dark Mode setting, you'll want to look for a "Theme" setting within the app. If it supports system-wide Dark Mode, you'll also see an option for the theme to follow the system.

Another thing you can do is add a “Dark Mode toggle” to your Quick Settings. To do this, swipe down from the top of the screen twice to expand the full Quick Settings menu. Look for and tap the pencil icon.

A section of unused toggles will appear . Look for the “Dark Mode” or “Dark Theme” toggle and drag it to the “Quick Settings” area.

Tap the select icon or back arrow when you're done

Now you can easily enable and disable Dark Mode from the “Quick Settings” panel!

Dark Mode is a great way to keep your eyes safe when using your phone at night. It can also save you some battery life . Make sure you use this feature to its fullest potential if you have it!
