EA announced a new Skate game and the nostalgia is back

Cuz Parry and Deran Chung appeared at EA Play on Thursday to announce that a new Skate game is in the early stages of development. Rumors of this announcement had been circulating for months, but no one expected it to be confirmed so quickly, much to the delight of fans of the series.

The last game in the series, Skate 3, was released in 2010. Since then, the franchise has been dormant, especially after the closure of EA's Black Box team in April 2013, which apparently did not please fans of the series. Even today, we can find live streams on Twitch of users trying their luck on the Skate 3 tracks.

Skate remained a beloved, cult franchise and its fans had been asking EA for a new Skate game for years, but the company had maintained the same silent stance all this time, until today.
