Nowadays, everyone uses the internet , as it offers endless possibilities. Often, it is necessary to enter various data into web platforms and applications. However, having our personal data on the Internet is not the best for their security. Every day we hear about hacking attacks and data breaches

Hackers can target businesses large and small, services and individuals alike. Everyone is at risk. In the past, attacks and breaches have caused millions of dollars in damage and exposed the data of millions of users (e.g. Facebook-Cambridge Analytica, WannaCry and Petya ransomware) .

Big tech companies have been trying to find ways to counter these types of attacks and protect their users' data. Two of these companies are Google and Mozilla.

How do they protect their users' data?

Through the enhanced security features in browsers .

Firefox 70 , Mozilla's latest browser, has new features that enhance user security . These include: Social Tracking Protection , a Privacy Protection Report , and a password manager that notifies users if it detects a data leak.

As for the Social Tracking Protection, the goal is to protect users from trackers that use major platformslike Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp, YouTube, etc. to track users. The new feature will reject and block tracking requests.

The second feature, Privacy Protection Report, creates a list of trackers that have attempted to track user activity. Finally, the password manager, called Lockwise, notifies users if their credentials have been leaked.

Firefox 70 is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms.

Google, on the other hand, released its new browser, Chrome 78, and introduced a tool, "Password Checkup," which also helps users understand whether the passwords they use are secure or if they have been leaked online.

Recently, a German intelligence agency declared that the Firefox browser is the most secure browser compared to Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Edge and advised German companies to use it.
