Roku has announced updates for two of its most popular streaming devices for 2019. The updates are for the Roku Ultra and the 1080P Express. The most interesting update, however, is for Roku OS, the company version 9.2. It's set to be released in October with some new features.
The new version 9.2 will offer better search, with the aim of making it easier to find movies by genre. The truth is that Roku is constantly updating its content, updating it in a way that makes it easy to see where each movie is available. From a hardware perspective now, the improvements that have been made will not be so easily visible.
However, the Express, for example, will be 10% smaller according to the company. It's still only for streaming at 1080p, but it includes everything you need, like a basic Roku remote and an HDMI , and you can plug it into an available USB on your TV.
As for the Ultra, the company claims that its channels launch 17% faster, while some live-streaming apps have improved by 33%. As we mentioned above, there will now be the ability to shortcut a channel, so the Ultra controller has 2 shortcut buttons.
