As we reported yesterday, the Debian Project developers announced the availability of Debian GNU/Linux 9.3 and Debian GNU/Linux 8.10 in the Stretch and Jessie series.
Debian GNU/Linux 9.3 is the third maintenance update of the Stretch series, the latest stable version of the operating system, and Debian GNU/Linux 8.10 represents the tenth release of the Jessie series, which is the Debian distribution before the 9 Stretch series.
Both updates include the latest security updates distributed through the official repositories.
To update your existing installations, simply open a terminal and run the command:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
This way you will install all the latest updates and your version will be upgraded to 9.3 as you can see in the image above.
For those of you who want to install the famous operating system from scratch, the Debian Project has just uploaded new updated ISO images for Debian GNU/Linux 9.3 “Stretch” and Debian GNU/Linux 8.10 “Jessie”. So after a fresh install and you won’t have to download a bunch of updates
