Fans have been quick to warn Nicole Scherzinger after her Instagram account was hacked. An image of a naked woman with Scherzinger's face superimposed on her head appeared on the singer and former X Factor, with the promise of revealing a "sex tape." The post remained on page and Instagram story for about 30 minutes before being removed.
The biographical information on her page – which has 3.9 million followers – was also modified after the phrase "my sex tape" was added, but this was quickly removed with the singer appearing to have regained control of her social media.
While the posts were still being taken down, the singer's fans were sending her messages on Twitter to warn her that her account had been hacked. One wrote: "@NicoleScherzy I think your Instagram has been hacked. People seem to have nothing better to do." Another fan said: "@NicoleScherzy your Instagram account has been hacked? Because someone posted a naked photo of you that is clearly not you."
Scherzinger, who was at the Creative Arts Emmys in Los Angeles on Saturday night, has not commented on the hacking.
