Google: Hackers have been controlling iPhones for years

Researchers from Google's security team have discovered something unprecedented. According to a series of investigations they conducted, hackers were able to track iPhones.

But let's look at what happened from the beginning. A group of hackers used some sites that had been infected before to inject malware into iPhones that would access these sites. There, nothing more was needed, a simple visit by the victim to the respective page was enough. Many times, some of the hackers' actions could even affect an updated phone. This operation lasted two and a half years.

What happened now, when they introduced malware into the would-be victim's mobile phone? All of the user's information and secrets were exposed. The user's exact location, all of their passwords, their conversations from popular chat applications such as WhatsApp , Telegram and iMessage , as well as their Gmail database were posted at all times .

The only positive thing was that every time the device was restarted, the memory was cleared, until the user visited one of the “hacked” sites again and the vicious cycle began. However, as a Google security researcher reports, hackers can maintain access to various accounts and services even when they lose access to the device itself.

Project Zero is a group of white-hat hackers at Google who search for security vulnerabilities in technology. It is characterized by its most relentless approach, as 90 days after the virus is pointed out to the victim, all details are publicly exposed, whether the problem has been fixed or not.

According to Google researchers, the only thing iPhone users and other mobile users can do is understand that such mass attacks are happening and will continue to happen. This is why they need to realize that although the mobile phone is an integral part of everyone's daily life, it is still a device that can be exploited to expose their personal data.
