For some time now, news has been circulating that Microsoft is planning to create a new open source version of Microsoft Edge for Windows 10, which will be based on Chromium. And naturally, rumors and speculation have long been circulating about what it will look like and what features it will have.
Earlier this month, there were even some leaks that gave us a small idea of what this new browser will be like.
But it seems that now, the wait is over and we will have the chance to try out an early version of Chromium Edge before its official release. The PCBeta Forum is the one that holds a link to a ZIP file of the installer.
However, this is a version that is not the official one from the company and therefore if you decide to download it you should be careful, as it certainly involves some risk. The official public preview of the browser is expected to be released soon and you can wait for it if you want to see what changes Microsoft has incorporated.
It goes without saying that since this is not a final release, it does not contain all the features that are expected to be released eventually. For example, there is currently no way to highlight the websites or functions of the long-awaited tabs.
There is support for Chrome extensions, which can be installed via the Chrome Store or Microsoft's website. The browsing experience is quite similar to Chrome, except that Microsoft services are also present, and there will also be a dark mode in the new version of the browser.
