Microsoft's big competitor to Slack , Microsoft Teams , was found to be down yesterday.
Users experienced connectivity issues with the chat service, leaving many businesses stranded and forced to revert to email and the ancient form of face-to-face conversations. Microsoft acknowledged the error and the company was able to restore access for all Microsoft Teams users after about four hours.
Microsoft Teams, replacing Skype for Business, has become the main communication tool for Office 365 users, with Microsoft constantly promoting it through updates.
Note that this appears to be the first major outage for Microsoft Teams, reminding us of the several connectivity issues that Slack faced in 2018.
"We can confirm that we have fully resolved the connectivity issues that some users may have experienced," a Microsoft spokesperson said in a public statement.
Of course, the cause of the error and whether it is something that may occur again in the future have not yet been reported.
