The upcoming Windows 10 will feature ransomware protection, as it will allow users of the operating system to create cloud backups via OneDrive directly from within the operating system.
Ransomware is one of the most significant threats currently on the internet, and Microsoft is reportedly pushing for greater adoption of the latest version of Windows 10 that will enable this feature.
A post from HTNovo reveals that the company is pushing security alerts in Windows to emphasize the importance of ransomware protection in Windows 10, recommending that users enable the feature from Settings.
A security alert appears in Windows Security Center (to be called Windows Security in the upcoming version) when the app is opened. The alert suggests users set OneDrive to automatically back up certain files as a protection against ransomware.
This feature is not new, having been initially added to the Windows 10 April 2018 Update that was released earlier this year. However, it seems that Microsoft is expecting more users to try it out in the upcoming Windows 10 October 2018 Update.
The update will likely be released to the public this week. For those of you interested in an immediate update, read the post:
