Samsung and Google collaborate on new foldable smartphones

SamsungAt the Samsung Developer Conference 2018, the Korean tech giant unveiled its foldable smartphone . And while the company only showed a prototype, it certainly gave us an idea of ​​what to expect.

Ahead of the unveiling, the company showcased its new Infinity Flex Display technology. It called it “the next big thing in display technology.” Based on that, Samsung showed off a prototype.

At first glance, the device looks like a thick and ugly smartphone with a common touchscreen on the front.

However, it opens to reveal its second and larger screen, which turns the foldable phone into a tablet. When open, users will be able to use three apps at once.

During the presentation, Samsung stated that their display is extremely durable and can be folded and unfolded hundreds of thousands of times.

The event also announced a new partnership between Samsung and Google. The tech giant has already activated the upcoming built-in Android support for its new devices, dubbed “foldables.” Google’s goal is to bring all of Android’s features to the new foldable devices, creating a more complete user experience.
