We all know that Microsoft Edge is the default browser in Windows 10, that doesn't mean it's the favorite choice of users.
It is observed that although Windows 10 is slowly approaching the top, the same is not true for Microsoft Edge, which is still well behind.
Specifically, Google Chrome is the top choice with more than 60% of the PC market, while Mozilla Firefox comes in second with less than 10%. Despite no longer receiving new features and improvements, Internet Explorer is still surprisingly popular, while Edge is far behind with around 4%.
Microsoft has tried almost everything to boost Microsoft Edge adoption, but nothing has worked and the app still lags behind its rivals.

The way Microsoft is trying to promote Edge is definitely part of the problem. Whether we're talking about desktop ads, pop-ups, or the occasional message here and there, Microsoft's aggressive strategy has failed to drive users to alternative options.
Also, the features that Microsoft Edge has don't help matters much. Edge only receives updates as part of new Windows 10 updates, and that happens twice a year. Meanwhile, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox get updates much more frequently.
Needless to say, the overall stability of the application is another major issue that needs to be addressed. A search on the Feedback Hub will show you that there are tens of thousands of users complaining about the browser being slow, freezing or freezing frequently, and occasionally crashing completely.
The truth is that many of these issues have already been fixed or at least improved, and Microsoft promises to continue improving the experience in upcoming updates. So let's hope the company keeps its word!
