Even Google knows how addictive its products can be. As part of its push for digital wellbeing, Google is rolling out a useful feature that will show how much time a user spends on the YouTube platform each day. The feature is already rolling out and is available in the latest versions of YouTube on Android and iOS.

In a blog post titled “Tools to Take Charge of Your Digital Wellbeing,” Google announced the new “Time Watched” tool, which will be accessible to everyone via the Account menu. By tapping on the time watched option, the user will be able to see the time they have spent on the same day, the previous day, and the last week.
Also, through this new feature, the user will be able to set a limit on how many hours they can use the application, or set notifications that will remind them to reduce their use of the application.
In May 2018, Google announced a “Take a break” feature for YouTube, which allowed users to set reminders every 15, 30, 60, 90, or 180 minutes. When those minutes passed, users could either shut down the device or ignore the notification and continue watching the video they were watching.
This feature can also work in a different way, such as removing the sound from videos, or notifying the user via vibrations.
Finally, after Google released the "Take a break" feature, it brought Dark mode to the Android version of the application, which provides users with a more relaxing interface.
