Users say they trust Microsoft and Apple

Microsoft: The Facebook data leak scandal has made most users more suspicious and cautious about the data they decide to share with a platform or company. Undoubtedly, it opens a new chapter in how businesses will manage our personal data.

Recent research reveals that users feel safer with Tesla, Lyft, Microsoft, Amazon, and Apple.

When asked which companies they trust the least with personal information, 58% said Facebook. This percentage is justified by the current situation, but it is very likely to decrease in the coming years as users tend to forget very easily how important the security of their privacy is.

On the other hand, companies like Apple and Microsoft are gaining ground every day, especially thanks to the battles they are fighting with the US government to protect user privacy.Microsoft

Apple, for example, resisted a court order to break into the iPhone of a San Bernardino shooter, forcing the FBI to eventually seek help from third parties. Apple argued that hacking an iPhone would compromise the security of all customers and that the FBI would have access to tools that were dangerous to all users.

Microsoft, on the other hand, has been in court with the US government over a case involving user data stored on servers overseas. The giant was asked to hand over user information held in data centers in Ireland, but refused, claiming it has no jurisdiction over data located outside its borders.
