Microsoft continues its educational policy with very affordable equipment and today announced a series of new Windows 10 devices that are specifically targeted at schools that wish to modernize their infrastructure with the latest operating system and the company's models that benefit from it.
In a blog announcement that announces the company's renewed education policy, Microsoft reveals new Windows 10 devices that will soon be available for educators, which were created with hardware partners who previously launched laptops running on OS.
While the company does not provide many specifications for these devices, it says that the Lenovo 100e, which is a laptop powered by the Intel Celeron Apollo Lake, will be sold at a price of $189 in the United States, while the upgraded Lenovo 300e will have a price of $279. The latter model, however, comes in a 2-in-1 form with pen support.
JP also participates in Microsoft's educational initiative with two devices: the Classmate Leap T303 laptop that incorporates Hello Windows support and is sold for $ 199 and the Trigono V401 2-in-1 with stylus and touch, whose price starts at $ 299.
Microsoft has more news for educators, including a free Chemistry Update for Minecraft: Education Edition, which will add a series of improvements for existing customers.
“[This] will allow educators to use the familiar world of Minecraft and game‑based learning to attract students of all ages to chemistry. Through hands‑on experiments, students can learn everything from building compounds to more challenging topics”, says Microsoft.
And that's not all. Microsoft also announced improvements on the Mixed Reality front, with the educational company Pearson investing in headsets and the HoloLens. Microsoft will also give a 10% discount on HoloLens for schools, the company said.
These efforts are expected to help Microsoft remain one of the leaders in the education sector, which has recently become a top priority for other companies as well, such as Google.
