New iPhone models get rid of the screen notch

The iPhone X's display, which has received positive reviews for its quality and performance, is manufactured by Samsung, but it has a very controversial feature, the notch.

Located at the top of the screen, the notch was Apple of removing the display bezels, but still housing the selfie camera and Face ID. Samsung seems to have found a solution to the problem once again, as the South Koreans have discovered an easy way to get rid of the notch.

A recently discovered patent shows that it is possible to remove the iPhone X notch by creating holes in the screen, thus allowing for technologies such as the camera.iPhone

Samsung says this method allows for an edge-to-edge display. This means there are no bezels or notches as all the hardware will be integrated directly into the display through these holes.

While everything looks ideal, it doesn't necessarily mean it is. There are still questions, and one of them concerns whether there would be inactive parts on the screen in those areas where the holes would be located.

As with everything that is still in the patent stage, there is no guarantee that this technology could ever make it to production, and the documents show that Samsung registered them in South Korea in July and October 2016.

It remains to be seen what future Samsung models will look like, as well as all of the new year's iPhone models that will feature the notch, as Apple wants to make Face ID available on all devices.
