SurfBook Mini: Chuwi is now famous for making copies of Surface models Microsoft, which of course cost much less. Now the company is back with a fairly small model that bets big on portability.
The reason is the SurfBook Mini, Chuwi's new 2-in-1 that is based on the same approach as its predecessors, combining decent hardware and a low price.
The device will feature a 10.8-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, so it's smaller than any Microsoft Surface model, but it promises to offer a Windows 10 experience without compromise.
The hardware is powered by an Intel Celeron N3450 chip paired with 4GB of RAM. While there are several low-end Windows 10 S devices powered by the same processor, it's not the best in terms of performance, as the CPU reaches its limits when it comes to more demanding tasks or multitasking.
For an average user, of course, who doesn't want anything more than running Windows Store apps, watching movies, and playing music, the SurfBook Mini is exactly what they need.
Additionally, buyers get 64GB of storage. If you want to connect any external storage devices, you have several ports to help you out, including one USB-C and two USB 3.0 ports.
The Chuwi SurfBook Mini will be released on November 11th for just $299, and the package includes a keyboard cover and a HiPen stylus.
It remains to be seen how productive this particular model will be, although we must emphasize that given the processor and RAM settings, it is better not to choose it if you are interested in gaming or 4K video editing.
