Facebook investigates dangerous, viral game 48 hour challenge

Facebook . is investigating a viral 48 hour challenge game that has caused major concern in recent times. The challenge involves children disappearing for 48 hours and during that time, they must make as many posts on Facebook as possible to earn points

Participants have 48 hours to get the highest score before they are eliminated. The entries have not yet been made official, but Facebook is looking into the matter in detail.

"The safety of young people on Facebook is a responsibility we take very seriously and we are already investigating the information we have been given so that we can be prepared if we need to intervene," a Facebook spokesperson said.

The platform works closely with safety experts such as the NPSCC, the UK Safer Internet Centre, Missing People, Childnet and many other organisations that help young people have a better experience on Facebook. It also works closely with law enforcement agencies on child safety issues.

"We encourage people to use the reporting tools available on every Facebook page if they become aware of suspicious content," the spokesperson said.

A typical example is the disappearance of Leah, 12, from the city of Hull last week, who was persuaded by her friends from school to take part in the challenge without knowing what it was about and was afraid to leave the game because she would be bullied.

It should be noted that the 48 hour challenge is a continuation of the "Game of 72" that began in 2015 and had caused great concern about the fate of the children.
