ProMotion: The launch of the iPhone seems to be Apple 's main concern as the company is betting heavily on the OLED display that is expected to be introduced with the device.
But in addition to built-in sensors, narrow bezels, and better screen-to-body ratio, the new display will also borrow the ProMotion technology that Apple uses in the iPad Pro.
This means that the iPhone 8 will support higher refresh rates, thus reducing motion blur in various situations including scrolling.
A second reason the company is using the new display is because of the company's bet on artificial intelligence. The new smartphone will feature a special chip that will contribute to the implementation of various tasks. The chip is called the Apple Neural Engine and will be activated together with the ProMotion display.
The iPad Pro launched with a 10.5-inch display and 120 Hz refresh rate, so there's a good chance Apple is aiming for the same specs for the iPhone 8's display.
On the other hand, let's not forget that Apple has faced some difficulties with the production of OLED screens as Samsung, its sole supplier, cannot produce enough panels until September when the iPhone 8 will debut.
Therefore, Apple could present its new smartphone at the September event but sales will start in the coming months with more likely releases in October or November.
Because Apple is trying to ensure smooth production of OLED screens for its next models, it will also collaborate with LG on a factory that will exclusively produce screens for the new iPhones.
