Facebook Stories, self-destructing messages & camera effects

Snapchat's Stories feature is so popular that it's forced Instagram and Facebook Messenger to provide their users with similar services. Now, Facebook appears to be adopting a similar Stories feature, among others.

Facebook Stories will appear at the top of your News Feed and will consist of videos and photos you share with your friends. Facebook Stories will appear there for 24 hours, but not on your Timeline or News Feed unless you choose to post it there.

To add a story to Facebook Stories, you simply need to tap on the “Your Story” icon in the Stories bar that appears at the top of your News Feed.

Seriously, Facebook Stories could be annoying for some users, as it will be the first thing you see at the top of your News Feed, whether you want it or not.

Facebook also added a new feature called Direct. The tool will allow users to share individual images or videos with their friends, which can only be viewed once.Facebook Stories, self-destructing messages & camera effects

The image or video will then be deleted. Needless to say, Facebook's Direct feature is similar to Snapchat's, as it does essentially the same thing and even has roughly the same UI.

In addition to this, Facebook completely redesigned the camera and added many effects, such as masks, frames, and interactive effects. facebook

Facebook also said it will add new creative effects to the camera in the coming months. The new features have already started rolling out to Facebook app users on Android and iOS, just weeks after its Messenger app was updated with a similar feature.
