AlthoughWindows phones are no longer the favorite devices of consumers, it seems that the German police have a different opinion as they believe that they will optimize their workflow by making it faster and easier.
Hamburg officers recently spent over 100,000 euros on Windows phones, specifically 900 Lumia devices because of their ability to connect to large screens and offer a PC experience.
Although it was not revealed which Lumia model they chose, its average price is estimated at $111, so we are probably talking about the flagship Lumia 950 or 950 XL. Of course, there is also the possibility that the police signed a deal with Microsoft for a special price on another device.
German officers explain that Windows Phones make it easier and faster to file an incident due to special applications while also giving them the ability to work in their offices on large screens thanks to Continuum connectivity. They also praise the security of Windows 10 Mobile as well as Microsoft services that contribute to smoother work both in the office and on the go.
It goes without saying that the German police do not face any problems with the lack of applications from Windows phones, mainly because they have customized solutions for their services, so third-party applications are not necessary for them. Therefore, one of the biggest disadvantages of the Windows operating system in this case seems to qualify.
Although the German police seem to love Windows Phones, the platform's sales rates remain very low.
