Alcatel to unveil new smartphones at MWC 2017

There have been rumors over the past couple of days that Alcatel will launch five new smartphones at Mobile World Congress (MWC) later this month. However, Alcatel hasn't confirmed anything in any press conference so far, so I don't know if and when these devices will be unveiled.

According to GSMArena, Alcatel fans will have to wait a long time for the launch event, as the company has just confirmed that the press conference will take place on February 27th.

Unfortunately, not much is known about what Alcatel plans to unveil later this month, but we do have a few details that leaked last week.

The most important things are the fact that Alcatel has decided to embrace the modular design which was not that popular among customers. The LG G5, the flagship that was based on the modular design, did not sell very well.

On a more positive note, the Motorola Moto Z seems to be a bit more successful, so Alcatel has a chance to get it right. At least two, if not all of the smartphones announced by Alcatel will feature the so-called modular design.

One of the modules intended for these Alcatel smartphones features some LED that will light up in different colors with the music you are listening to.

Another piece of information that was recently leaked concerns one of Alcatel's smartphones that could be announced on February 27. It is supposed to be powered by an octa-core MediaTek processor.

It is also rumored to have a 13-megapixel camera on the back with dual-LED flash. The smartphone will be one of the most expensive Alcatel launched at MWC 2017 and is said to cost around €320 in Europe.
