Samsung begins testing Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 edge

Good news for Samsung fans who are eager to get their hands on the upcoming Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Edge, as the South Korean company has reportedly already begun testing the smartphones.

The information comes from TechTastic who discovered an interesting detail about the company's upcoming devices.Galaxy S8

The Galaxy S8 appears to be using the Samsung codename SM-G950U, while the EGDE Galaxy S8 is known as SM-G955U. Both devices run Android 7.0 Nougat, which shouldn't come as a surprise considering Google has already released Android 7.1.1.Samsung begins testing Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 edge

The UAProf documents don't reveal anything else about the upcoming S8 Edge and S8 devices, so we'll stick with the information we already have from previous reports.

It should be noted that Samsung has decided not to present its flagship at MWC 2017, but at a special event that will take place on March 29.

The global recall of the Galaxy Note 7, as well as the investigations following the phone's withdrawal from the market, postponed the announcement of the Galaxy S8 for about a month, but everything indicates that the "fuss" caused is working to the benefit of the marketing of the upcoming device.

Samsung typically launches new versions of its Galaxy S series in late February or early March at the Mobile World Congress technology show. As we previously reported, that won't happen this year, but starting in 2018, Samsung could return to its old announcement pattern.

It remains to be seen whether consumers continue to trust the South Korean company.
