HTC just sent a very cryptic image to the media. The email doesn't have any explanatory text with any further clues, it simply states that the company "wanted to share the date of its next big announcement."
Even more puzzling is that the date (January 12, 2017) mentioned in the HTC event announcement is after the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show, a major trade show event where companies usually make new product announcements.
However, HTC has been making all of its latest announcements online, rather than holding large and outrageously expensive media events.
The only information the event announcement provides is “For U”, which as you can imagine is not that enlightening.
It should be mentioned that HTC has a history of collaboration with the company UnderArmor, which produces wearables.
Could we see another fitness band or smartwatch?
It's a little early to see the successor to the HTC 10, but no one can know, anything is possible.
