CEO Apple Tim Cook announced that Cupertino is still focusing on desktops with the arrival of two new Mac models getting closer. Rumors have it that Apple has given up on the desktop market due to Microsoft in the sector.
It started with the creation of the Macbook , which offered several new features such as the controversial Touch Bar. On the other side, Microsoft introduced the Surface Studio, the first all-in-one PC that has additional features such as a touch screen, support for accessories such as the Surface Dial, and the ability to convert into a drawing tablet.
Apple, however, seems to have no intention of abandoning desktops, as Tim Cook not only publicly stated that new models are already planned but also claimed that the company still provides some of the best features in the world.
“The current generation iMac is the best desktop with a stunning Retina 5K display.” He also added that customers shouldn’t worry about buying desktops while Apple is working on it.
"I've been asked by many in the media whether Apple is committed to desktops. If there's any doubt, let me assure you that desktops are at the top of our list," he said. He stressed that there are many new things to expect from the company, which although he can't give more information at this time, he is sure will excite us.
Finally, Apple is expected to release its new iMacs next year, but this news has not been confirmed by the company yet.
