Apple's long-awaited AirPods wireless headphones are finally coming to the company's retail stores on Monday, December 19!
This information was revealed by a report from MacRumors, which cites a retail source and claims that retail stores as well as Apple-authorized carriers are set to stock the new AirPods headphones.
The wireless earbuds were originally set to launch in October, but were delayed for unspecified reasons. Earlier this week, however, Apple finally made them available for sale on its online store, with an official launch date of December 22. If the MacRumors report is true, that means customers who visit a physical Apple retail store will be able to pick up AirPods three days before that date.
AirPods are tiny earphones that look a lot like regular iPhone earphones, except they're cordless. They feature Apple's new W1 chip, which pairs with other devices faster, and a special case that doubles as a portable battery/charger. It's a revolution in the way we've seen earphones before!
And while the AirPods will reach consumers in time for the Christmas holidays, Apple's other wireless headphones, the BeatsX, won't be available for sale until February of next year.
