Apple today acknowledged that some iPhone 6s devices are unexpectedly shutting down. The company will replace the batteries in all of these devices free of charge through Apple retail stores and authorized service centers.
If you're experiencing this issue with your iPhone 6s , Apple says there's no need to worry, as it's not a safety issue. In short, you're not at risk of an explosion.
Furthermore, the company believes that this only affects devices from a limited range of serial numbers manufactured between September and October 2015.

The issue is completely different from the 'touch disease' issue that has been observed on some iPhone 6 and 6 Plus devices. 'Touch disease' causes different symptoms such as a flickering gray line at the top of the screen and reduced touch responsiveness of the device.
Apple said last week that the problem could be caused by clumsy users who have dropped their phones and that it would charge $149 for the repair.
It should be noted that since August, a class action lawsuit has been filed against the company for this specific problem.
