Huawei unveiled its new smartphone Honor 5A at a recent event held in China. The company's CEO said that the Honor 5A is suitable for younger consumers, as it falls into the entry-level mobile phone series that offers satisfactory specifications, while their main goal remains an affordable price. The Honor 5A is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 617 chipset clocked at 1.5GHz. This chipset is found in many mid-range smartphones, such as the Moto G4 Plus.
The Honor 5A will come in multiple variants, including China Mobile and dual Netcom versions that use Huawei's octa-core Kirin 620 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz. The smartphone features 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of expandable storage.
It has a 13MP rear camera with 5P lens, 28mm wide angle, and 7cm macro. The front camera is 5MP with 4P lens, f/2.0 aperture, and blue filters to reduce radiation. The battery capacity is quite satisfactory: 3,100mAh with power saving features 3.0, which should give a full day of battery life.
The dimensions of the Honor 5A are 154.3 x 77.1 x 8.45 cm and it weighs 168 grams. It has a plastic body and a metal frame, and comes in 6 different colors, white, gold, yellow, pink, blue and black. The device will have a 5.5-inch display with 720p resolution, and the contrast ratio will reach 1000:1, 178-degree viewing angles, as well as Aluminum Silicon tempered glass. The display also features pixel level adjustment under sunlight.
The device is said to come with security features that protect the device from unauthorized access, suspicious URLs, or even theft.
