The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate has filed a regular procedure case against a 43-year-old foreigner for computer theft 
The Hellenic Police's Cybercrime Division investigated a case of theft of two stationary computers and filed a regular criminal case against a 43-year-old foreigner.
The investigation into the case began after two Greek citizens reported the theft of their computers. The allegations were brought to the attention of the Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office and the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate was ordered to conduct a preliminary examination.
The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate conducted a thorough digital investigation and analysis of the data and elements of the case, and after subsequent correspondence with internet service providers, the point of connection of the computers to the internet and the involvement of the 43-year-old in the case were finally identified.
Subsequently, for a thorough and comprehensive investigation of the case, a search was conducted in the morning hours of 15-4-2016 at the 43-year-old's home, where the stolen computers were found and seized, which were subsequently returned to their owners.
The case file, which was compiled for the case, will be submitted to the competent Prosecution Authority, while the possible involvement of the accused in other related criminal acts is being investigated.
