Today, March 29, 2016, KDE announced the immediate availability of the first fix update for the stable release of the KDE Plasma 5.6 desktop environment.
The KDE Plasma 5.6.1 release comes a week after the release of the new KDE Plasma 5.6, which brought many new features, such as color scheme support for the Breeze theme, an improved task manager that displays task progress, as well as media controls on the Plasma screen and tooltips.
Today's maintenance release of KDE Plasma 5.6 fixes some small, but important bugs reported by users.
Among the changes, we can notice improvements to QtQuickControls ComboBox popups, improved Activities KDE Control Module (KCM), and the display of ratings in the Discover Packagekit backend.
“Today KDE is releasing a bugfix update for KDE Plasma 5, version 5.6.1. Plasma 5.6 was released in March with many feature improvements and new capabilities to complete the desktop experience,” reads today’s announcement.
“This release adds a month's worth of work in new translations and fixes from KDE contributors.”
